The Week Ahead : 6th - 10th April 2026
Highlights: Climb the Wall of Worry?
Sources & Services I Use in my Trading:
StockAnalysis.com - I’ve been using Stock Analysis as a super cheap but reliable method of looking at New and Upcoming IPOs, Earnings Calendars and most notably KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Stock Analysis allows you to view the KPIs for many companies with up to date metrics and segments that you can cross reference against Earnings Results. This is incredibly important when understanding what metrics move a stock. At $65 per year it’s a no brainer. They’ve given me a discount code if you use IRISHBORNINVESTOR they will give you another 10% Off.
Week Overview
Market Setup: Below All Moving Averages, Strong VIX, Market in short term Downtrend
Key Themes: Wall of Worry, Doom and Macro
Focus Areas: The market had a nice bounce last week and notably on Thursday had a big reversal against the mounting wall of worry on a ‘‘boots on the ground’’ invasion of Iran and Trump’s disappointing speech Wednesday night. I have to note that several themes broke out notably Space stocks along with some Semiconductor names. Whether they can hold this week is another conversation. Trump’s ‘‘Deadline’’ will hit at 8pm EST on Monday and his weekend Truth Social Diarrhea is becoming more bizarre by the day.
This coming week we have some important economic updates notably ISM Services on Monday at 10am, FOMC Minutes on Wednesday at 8:30am, US PCE Thursday at 8:30am and US CPI Friday 8:30am.
Very quiet week in Earnings. The following week earnings season will kick off as usual with the Big Banks. There are a couple of names with decent charts but nothing I’m hugely excited about. Highlights listed below.
Lot’s of good looking charts developing and delayed reactions in recent picks that didn’t go on day one. Market dependent of course but a broad push up and out in names would give me some confidence. Some names listed below in Delayed Reactions.
We’re at a point where I won’t be surprised if the correction ends and we push out to a new bull run in the coming weeks or whether we make a new leg down. With that in mind there is no need to rush anything here.
It’s a marathon not a sprint and right now we’re in the a tiring period.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
