The Week Ahead : 30th March - 3rd April 2026
Highlights: New Quarter, New Market
Sources & Services I Use in my Trading:
StockAnalysis.com - I’ve been using Stock Analysis as a super cheap but reliable method of looking at New and Upcoming IPOs, Earnings Calendars and most notably KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Stock Analysis allows you to view the KPIs for many companies with up to date metrics and segments that you can cross reference against Earnings Results. This is incredibly important when understanding what metrics move a stock. At $65 per year it’s a no brainer. They’ve given me a discount code if you use IRISHBORNINVESTOR they will give you another 10% Off.
Week Overview
Market Setup: Below All Moving Averages, Strong VIX, Market in short term Downtrend
Key Themes: Oversold Bounce, High Volatility, Defensive Posture
Focus Areas: We have resolved to the downside after several months of sideways action. Many stocks that were showing RS are now falling apart. Only a handful remain and those will likely be taken eventually. I’ve been bullish the last two months and was seeing traction in positions. My view was that if we resolved to the upside then I would be in an excellently positioned. There were good charts and good setups - CRCL, FSLY etc. new setups have been fewer in the past 7 to 10 days and now the market has broken down. My stance has changed.
In the short term my focus is an oversold (T2108) bounce soon but it must be emphasized that right now the trend is down. Easiest money is likely to be made on the short side. I’m not a specialist in shorting so for me it means a period of less activity and shorter time horizons on long trades unless the market can bounce back.
Charts are broken. It will take time for them to repair. A defensive posture is needed now. Save mental energy and capital. These are the times to go through old charts, do deep dives and work on process. Turn up every day and go through the routine to be prepared for the next easy money environment.
The week ahead is light in terms of earnings, events or macro. It’s all about the war narrative right now and that will continue until it doesn’t.
Tuesday is the final day of the quarter. I think we will see rebalancing and de-grossing until Tuesday close.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
