I’ve been using Stock Analysis as a super affordable but reliable method of looking at New and Upcoming IPOs, Earnings Calendars and most notably KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Stock Analysis allows you to view the KPIs for many companies with up to date metrics and segments that you can cross reference against Earnings Results. This is incredibly important when understanding what metrics move a stock.

Week Overview

Market Setup: Runaway Lock Out Rally, Overheated Short Term, Bullish Medium Term

Key Themes: AI Capex Spend, Hyperscalers, Industrials & Transports

Focus Areas: This week is the busiest earnings week of the calendar and the most important with the hyperscalers GOOG, AMZN, AAPL, META & MSFT all reporting. The setup we have right now is that the Semiconductor stocks and AI Infra suppliers have been going nuts the last two weeks. We’re seeing SMH very extended in the short term but in the medium term look like a fantastic breakout. I think waiting for better entries on big movers is prudent here. INTC on Friday and other names like MXL running with it really stank of FOMO. You don’t want to get caught in that. It’s all about the RR not the percentage move or the bragging rights.

It makes sense that we want these Hyperscalers to show big growth and likely big CAPEX to keep the AI spend powering on. Any drop or hesitation in spend will be bearish and cascade down but it seems that is an unlikely scenario. I’m also seeing some bullish potential in industrials, chemicals, precious metals and transport stocks (specifically trucking). I’ve flagged the most amount of charts that I’ve probably ever done in an earnings week as tradeable. I think the opportunity is enormous in the coming months it’s just a matter of sticking to the process and trying to get into the right names at the right time.

On the macro front we have the FED interest rate decision and press conference on Wednesday. This will likely be dwarfed by Tech earnings that evening. On Thursday morning we have Core PCE which is an inflation indicator. While I’m certainly aware of these events I think the market goes with the earnings so that is my focus.

Stocks in Play Watchlist:

I’ve decided to broaden this list to make it more organic where I’m tracking leading stocks as well as those that have had catalysts. I feel this is a better way for people to see what I’m really monitoring not just those that I’ve featured in this newsletter. There are plenty of leading names and themes that won’t hit with a perfect catalyst before they move but we can still be there. Especially off these oversold volatile bottoms. I’m going to make more of an effort to display how I entered names and how I intend to enter them in the daily newsletter. Catalysts are always my priority but with patience and experience I feel there are opportunities for us to capitalize on.

Monitoring This Week:

  • SGML, SIDU, AMPX, YOU, SWBI, ONDS, APLD, CRML, CRWD, SOLS, CRCL, IREN, CIFR, ATEN

Have a Great Week!

Born Investor

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
