The Week Ahead
Thanksgiving week saw us drift higher. I’m relatively wary of this into next week. I did think some names that outperformed this week seemed seemed like overreactions to the upside such as ANF, SYM and others.
That being said there is potential that we just head directly into a wonderful Santa Rally. I think the FED Rate Decision on the 10th will likely be the major narrative for the next two weeks.

On the Macro front we get US ISM Manufacturing on Monday @10:00am and then US Jobs Report on Wednesday @ 08:15am. Michigan Sentiment Friday @ 10am ET. No FED Speakers as they are in a blackout period before the decision on the 10th of December.
Earnings season is wrapping up but still have some important Tech names, CRDO, MDB, MRVL, OKTA, CRWD, CRM, SNOW. Not many of the tech names look like potential trades but will be important for overall market and particularly the AI trade. We also have some discount retailers reporting DLTR, FIVE, this group has shown some strength. I’ve listed some names below that have tradeable charts from this weeks earnings.
Conference season also kicks off next week. CitiGroup Global Healthcare, Piper Annual Healthcare, UPS Global Tech & AI are the notable ones I see. Amazon re:Invent Conference will also take place all week..
Theme Watch

Very strong bounce back this week. Low Volume week. I’m not taking much from it. Commodities were particularly strong many of them are extended though. A lot of other themes are in middle of bounces, charts not setup particularly well. Discount Retailers/Apparel was notably strong also. Interesting to see if these have any follow through.

Delayed Reaction Watchlist:
Strong Catalysts : Stocks that I feel have the strongest catalysts/themes
Most Recent : The catalysts I’m tracking in the last few days that may offer Day 2,3,4 entries
Stocks of Notable Interest : On these I’m waiting for a catalyst or secondary catalyst that I think may occur
This may adjust over time. I’m always looking to improve my process and refine it.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
