The Week Ahead : 16th - 20th March 2026

Highlights: NVDA GTC Event, Market Woes

Sources & Services I Use in my Trading:

  • StockAnalysis.com - I’ve been using Stock Analysis as a super cheap but reliable method of looking at New and Upcoming IPOs, Earnings Calendars and most notably KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Stock Analysis allows you to view the KPIs for many companies with up to date metrics and segments that you can cross reference against Earnings Results. This is incredibly important when understanding what metrics move a stock. At $65 per year it’s a no brainer. They’ve given me a discount code if you use IRISHBORNINVESTOR they will give you another 10% Off.

Week Overview

Market Setup: Market Closes at the Lows, VIX still strong, Oversold Indicators Growing

Key Themes: NVDA GTC Event, Strait of Hormuz, FOMC Decision

Focus Areas: NVDA GTC Event is the major event next week for individual names, notably Semiconductor & AI Narrative stocks. They are widely expected to unveil a new inference chip on Monday. The conference runs all week. You can register for free as view the full schedule here.

Not to be captain obvious but the biggest narrative this week is likely to continue to be the Iran War and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. I’m not going to give a take on what happens because I have no clue but I think if the market is going to panic then it seems like it will be this week. The VIX had a negative week but is still above 25 and at the same time the market is oversold or almost on many metrics but we are more than capable of going into panic mode here. The T2108 is at 23. When it goes below 20 it’s generally in a panic and a sharp, quick flush.

There are some earnings potential plays this week but nothing market moving and we’re very much at the tail end. Highlights below. Nothing I’m super excited about. I think patience and caution is advised this week.

Let’s wait and see. Defensive posture for now.

Have a Great Week!

Born Investor

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
