Market Awareness

The likelihood of a two to three day bounce is growing. VIX red this morning and markets green. There were some divergences between individual names and the Market yesterday. The daily trend is down so any bounce should be treated as a counter rally until proven otherwise. My timeframe is 1 to 3 days on trades and I will be trimming aggressively, if I take a trade.

Monitoring the VIX today for any Red to Green as a warning sign. NVDA earnings this evening. I would assume they will still be very strong but the market reaction is another story. The market is totally correlated right now so there is a big case for not looking at individual names at all and sticking to Leveraged ETFs if trading.

Today’s Picks

U: Unity and Epic Games announced a major interoperability partnership. Unity developers will be able to publish their Unity-built games directly into Fortnite, a 500M-account ecosystem with a built-in revenue share model via the Fortnite Creator Economy. Unity’s enhanced cross-platform commerce platform will gain Unreal Engine support, giving Unreal developers the ability to manage pricing, catalogs, payments, promotions, and live ops through Unity’s tools.

Had strong earnings recently and in a better market I’d really like this. Needs to break over $40 and obviously requires the market to bounce also. Nice long weekly base, worth watching for additional catalysts if it doesn’t go today.

X-Ray U: Industry Group: Software - Application, Market Cap: 15.83B, Float: 342.50M Short Interest 6.65%, Days to Cover: 2.12, Exchange: NYSE

Note: DY caught my attention with good earnings and really nice chart but I’ve passed on it because it’s not neglected and they announced an acquisition at the same time which may weight the stock down. It is also not showing good volume pre-market.

Sources & Services I Use in my Trading:

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
