Today’s Picks

OLMA: Read through catalyst. This is moving based on an Oppenheimer note where their collaborations with 2 out of 3 big players in HR-Positive Breast Cancer players (PFE and NVS). They believe it could cause a bidding war for OLMA. Roche trial met it’s primary end point today (which is the 3rd player). This likely a one day play but the chart is good. $30 resistance and $16 support gives it quite a wide range today. High Short interest & DTC.

X-Ray OLMA: Industry Group: Biotechnology, Market Cap: 584.98M, Float: 52.95M Short Interest 15.80%, Days to Cover: 7.08, Exchange: NASDAQ

Market Awareness

I continue to be bearish in general in terms of my setup having worthwhile follow through. This earnings season has been a bust but realistically that’s not a shock considering the run we’ve had. The QQQ closed below the 50MA yesterday for the first time since February. I think it’s reasonable to look at the December to March period as a probable likely case scenario. Where we chop sideways in a range and traders get ground down and investors puke out especially in the growth names. I think we will see a pivot from the story names to fiscal prudence - Profitability, FCF etc. which was similar in 21/22.

Back to today though, I think we continue to chop around here until NVDA earnings tomorrow evening. I’ll be surprised if we breakdown further prior to NVDA. I’m really looking at sitting out or else the expectation that anything I’m in won’t have follow through. Meaning aggressive trimming on Day 1.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
