1) Advance Auto Parts (AAP) (Rating: B, Multi-Day)

Industry Group: Auto Parts, Market Cap: 1.87B, Float: 58.91M Short Interest 17.64%, Days to Cover: 3.99, Exchange: NYSE

Catalyst: Huge Beat on EPS (-$0.22 vs est. -$0.70), Strong Gross & Operating Margins, Beat on Revs. Beat on FCF. Restructuring and turn around stock. Closed 500 Stores During the Quarter. FY25 Guide is inline with a wide range. Stock severely neglected which is my main interest. Coming up against 200MA which is a negative but meaningful Short Interest and strong results (relatively speaking).

Honorable Mention to:

NVTS - Announced partnership with NVDA, No mention of financials. Story stock making a huge move overnight. Meaningful short interest. AI Theme. Will be volatile.

SNOW - Strong Beat on Earnings & KPIs. May be weighted by market today but chart looks pretty solid with a Fast Zone all the way to $225 in reach.

Market Awareness

The QQQ Daily puts it in perspective where we are. I see people complaining about the market but we haven’t even touched the 10EMA on the QQQ yet. This has been an insanely easy environment to make money. Any pro trader will tell you. Now is a time to relax as the market consolidates here. I am back in day trading mode and taking profits more quickly on Stocks in Play. Breakouts are failing and buying the Opening Range High and just hoping for the best will likely not work for a while.

I was away earlier in the week so I am easing myself back into the market with no plans to do anything crazy between now and the weekend. I will be back to my normal routine and publishing this weekend.

Sources & Services I Use in my Trading:

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
