I use Benzinga Pro for 90% of my research each day. I have recently subscribed to a LIFETIME subscription. This is available for a one off price of $1650. This is incredible value. If this is something you’d be interested in then shoot me an email ([email protected]) and I’ll put you in touch with the Rep to receive the agreed price. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
1) Cogent Biosciences (COGT) (Rating: B, Multi-Day)
Industry Group: Biotechnology, Market Cap: 863.03M, Float: 94.03M Short Interest 17.57%, Days to Cover: 9.33, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Announced topline results from Part 2 of the SUMMIT trial of bezuclastinib for non-advanced systemic mastocytosis, showing clinically meaningful and statistically significant improvements across the primary and all key secondary endpoints. Nice Daily chart. Significant Short interest. One of several Biotech’s moving this morning. Has already traded 5m shares Pre market.
Honorable Mention to:
TSLA (Short) - Elon and his America party causing the sell off this morning. I guess there will be plenty looking to play a bounce here but I think there is potential for more downside and difficult to see where the catalyst comes from for near term upside. Using TSLQ on this if the setup triggers. I’d think we probably test $300 early and then fade? If it pushes solidly above $300 then the trade is invalid in my opinion.
Industry Group: Auto Manufacturers, Market Cap: 1014.33B, Float: 2.80B Short Interest 2.75%, Days to Cover: 0.64, Exchange: NASDAQ
PRZO - Positive demo for Israeli army for Drone Defence system. 100% accuracy on defence. Low mkt cap, low price story stock. The drone theme is what has me looking at it. Weekly chart looks ready for a strong B/O over $1.40
Industry Group: Aerospace & Defense, Market Cap: 22.69M, Float: 16.17M Short Interest 4.19%, Days to Cover: 0.64, Exchange: NASDAQ
KALV - FDA approved KalVista Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s (NASDAQ:KALV) Ekterly (sebetralstat) for acute attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adult and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older. Above $15 would be a strong weekly B/O. Low Float, high short interest. consolidating pre market.
Industry Group: Biotechnology, Market Cap: 595.59M, Float: 38.49M Short Interest 16.25%, Days to Cover: 8.31, Exchange: NASDAQ
MBIO - Orphan Drug Designation. Too many names for my liking today but this one is really powering ahead. Low cap stock, beware of halts. ARTL - Stress Induced Depression Drug Trial. Another one moving. I’ll be watching for whatever is actually moving strong not getting stuck thinking about any of these with conviction.
Delayed Reaction Watchlists:
Market Awareness
I like to see this red open today. Much easier to trade than a gap up. We want to see if the market goes green here. I expect it probably will unless there are some news headlines close to the open. We are in a bull market so the dips usually get bought.
Not a huge amount of big name stocks moving on news this morning, there are few biotech related stocks in play. Calm at the open. No rush to add a ton of risk. Concentrating on individual names and watching the Worm. A $550 gap fill on the QQQ would be nice but I am not sure it’ll get there today.
There are some solid Delayed Reaction pullbacks after occurring last week in names like AVAV and others from June Newsletter.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
