Stocks in Play: QTTB, WOLF

Welcome to today's Stocks in Play report. Below are the key stocks to watch, along with brief x-ray and analysis.

Market Awareness

First day of December and we’re going to open with a gap down. Not a huge surprise after last weeks grind up. I wouldn’t be overly concerned here unless you see VIX continue higher today. A one to three day pullback shouldn’t shock anyone. On the indices front we want to ideally carve out a higher low in the next few days.

How it effects today? I’m cautious. Not looking to go too hard on anything. Nothing spectacular standing out today. Looking to see some buying after the first hour. Monitoring the VIX as always. I have several open positions and looking to see how they respond today after the opening flush.

Noting MSTR/Bitcoin look pretty bearish today. MSTR could be a good short today also on the news they are establishing a $ reserve because of the fall in Bitcoin prices.

Today’s Picks

QTTB: Biotech Licencing Deal. This is about the best catalyst I see today. Microcap has sold it’s future licencing of Phase 1 ADX-097 - Rare Kidney Disease inhibitor. $7m up front + Milestones guaranteed of $12m plus up to $580m in Royalties. Chart has a pretty good base but it has moved 100% already. $4 Undercut & Rally is what I’m likely looking for in a trade.

X-Ray QTTB: Industry Group: Biotechnology, Market Cap: 26.95M, Float: 4.55M Short Interest 6.11%, Days to Cover: 1.26, Exchange: NASDAQ

WOLF: Announced an IRS refund of $700m. Stock is showing huge short interest for me. Potentially this number is incorrect but there’s a tiny float. Monitoring it for volume to come in. It can have crazy moves. Likely one day wonder if it does go.

X-Ray WOLF: Industry Group: Semiconductors, Market Cap: 525.10M, Float: 4.55M Short Interest 140.27%, Days to Cover: 1.89, Exchange: NYSE

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
