Stocks in Play: Rest Up and Reset
Welcome to today's Stocks in Play report. Below are the key stocks to watch, along with brief x-ray and analysis.
Market Awareness
I do not see anything worth trading today. It is a Triple Witching (Option Expiry Day) Friday. All the big players are finished for the year. The QQQ is below the 50MA, the 10EMA is below the 20EMA. Drop down to a 1 minute chart on the QQQ or any big tech name and you will see that we’ve been trapped in a range bound chop.
Almost all criteria for a positive market or a negative one are not being met. It’s simple a BAD market for trading unless you specialize in range bound scalps.
I’ve learned enough to know that these are the times to just go do something else or study. I’m guilty as anyone of overtrading but it’s so important to be patient. This purgatory should be treated as a great thing because when the market sets up again for us we’re going to make hay.
Spend time with family, get other jobs done or do some study. Rest up and Reset!
This is my last planned newsletter of 2025. It’s been an amazing year. It’s been wonderful to share it with all of you and I truly hope this newsletter has helped you along on your trading journey. I know that it has helped me.
Wishing everyone all the best over the holidays and an incredible 2026!
Cheers,
Sean

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
