Yesterday In Review

Solid day with nice follow through on WVE & RBRK. Unfortunately TROX stopped me out after taking 1min ORB. Looked great early on but faded. Sometimes that happens. I took smaller size in YOU which didn’t show a lot of RVOL early. Entered on $35 U&R. Still holding this for now but not overly confident on it. Trimmed some more WVE.

Market Awareness

Cautious of the FED Meeting today. We know that they will cut rates but if there is hawkish tones for further cuts then we may see some selling. Usually you see choppiness on these days prior to the Press Release/Speech. I’m not too keen to take on more risk going into it unless something is really going.

Catalysts I’m seeing this morning are watery at best. Waiting to see if some Volume comes in. Cautious, patient. No need to go crazy today.

Today’s Picks

This newsletter is always supposed to be an accurate portrayal of my daily routine and watchlist. So on days when things are a bit vague it would be wrong of me to just pick names and publish them as normal. I have 3 names I’m watching into today. There is a good chance I won’t trade any of them.

NXDR - The Open Door guy is pumping this stock this morning. No coincidence he’s doing it on a day that rates are being cut. This is a total grift, but total grifts can work the best sometimes. Weekly chart is decent, If it can get over $3 it can really get going.

Industry Group: Internet Content & Information, Market Cap: 788.14M, Float: 217.72M Short Interest 2.23%, Days to Cover: 2.53, Exchange: NYSE

GEV - Increased their 2028 outlook in an Investor/Analyst meeting yesterday. Significantly increased the guidance on Revs and EPS also raised Dividend and Buy back authorization. Really nice chart on this. More of a boring name but the chart has me looking at it for sure. There is a leveraged ETF version GEVX.

Industry Group: Specialty Industrial Machinery, Market Cap: 169.66B, Float: 271.12M Short Interest 2.79%, Days to Cover: 2.54, Exchange: NYSE

DXYZ - Quite speculative, based on SpaceX IPO reports. DXYZ holds private shares of SpaceX so might see some action as the narrative ramps on that IPO. They’re reportedly looking for a $1.5T valuation. Chart in multi week pullback/consolidation. Need to see volume rush into this near the open.

Industry Group: Asset Management, Market Cap: 401.88M, Float: 13.72M Short Interest 6.43%, Days to Cover: 1.36, Exchange: NYSE

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
