Commentary: Massive Gap up this morning. I don’t see many catalysts to trade that meet my criteria. We could be back to the good times here buy buying this gap at the open makes no sense to me. VIX Crushed. All positive. Many names moving. Earnings kicking off next week. Everything is correlated today. There will be massive opportunities if we can stabilize from here.

Catalyst: signed a definitive merger agreement to create a ~$1B U.S.-controlled deep-sea critical minerals platform focused on polymetallic nodule extraction. The deal includes $230M+ in equity raised ($150M PIPE + $75M pre-public financing), ~$175M cash at close, and a 25-for-1 reverse split of OMEX stock pre-close. The combined entity will hold exploration rights across 500,000+ sq km in the Cook Islands EEZ and NOAA-regulated international waters. Leadership includes former Rio Tinto CEO Tom Albanese (Chairman) and Goldman/JPMorgan veteran Mark Justh (CEO).
The assets they have seem legitimate. Looking at this as a likely one to two day play. Big Volume and Price action pre market. Good one day wonder candidate.
