Stocks in Play - 12th August 2026
Today in Focus: SOXL, TQQQ, HYLN
Trading Services I Use:
StockAnalysis.com - I’ve been using Stock Analysis as an affordable but reliable method of looking at New and Upcoming IPOs, Earnings Calendars and most notably KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Stock Analysis allows you to view the KPIs for many companies with up to date metrics and segments that you can cross reference against Earnings Results. This is incredibly important when understanding what metrics move a stock. At $65 per year it’s a no brainer. They’ve given me a discount code if you use STOCKSINPLAY they will give you another 10% Off.
Situational Awareness:
Market Condition: Bullish, Gap Up Open
Commentary:
CPI was In-Line. We are seeing decent gap up open on the Indices. Ideally today is breakout day. The setup is good. A fade to red is not what we want to see. I am optimistic but wary of the first 30mins. QQQ, SPY and IWM look ready.
QMCO certainly out performed my expectations yesterday! What a move.
Today I think most peoples eyes are on CRWV and NBIS. I don’t really see a surprise in either of them to be honest. The only thing that happened was that they essentially re-affirmed the insatiable demand for the industry. Neither chart rocks my world so for better or worse I am going to just place them on the delayed watchlist.
I think that SOXL or TQQQ might be the best way to express bullishness on the industry today.
I’m a bit short on time so no full write up but I like HYLN if it can power up passed $5 on big earnings beat and raise and military contract announcement. It’s hitting the underside of 50MA on that $5 level so it may be an issue.
Finally worth setting an alert on DFTX with strong Phase 3 data release. Nothing happening in the pre market but above $50 could have a strong move. Just a secondary watch for me if volume comes into it.
